About the Artist
Reed McLaren is an artist and musician residing in Providence, RI. She attended the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts with a concentration in figure drawing and painting, and explored costume design and mask making. She studied voice and harp and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rhode Island College, performing classical, early, and world music.
She joined the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative and the Art League of RI in early 2013 and began showing her mixed media work based on archival film footage, garnering juror's awards and recognition.
While pursuing her own work she has become involved in arts organizations and served as Vice President of the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative during the 2014 and 2015 season. She led the fundraising campaign and renovation of the gallery at Artists' Exchange in Cranston, RI and curated shows that highlight the artwork of both the disabled and refugee community.
